Elena Interview
What made you want to be a singer?
When I was about eight years old, I heard Celine Dion sing My heart Will Go On.
The song gave me the chills, I realized I wanted to be a singer, that I wanted to give others the same effect Celine had on me.
When was the first time you performed live?
The first time i sang live was at my church.
I had a solo part in a play.
Out of all your song which is your favorite and why?
My favorite song is probably Dream About You. This song was one of my first songs.
It was a huge accomplishment for me and it's also very important to me because it was about a very good friend.
Who's your favorite artist/song at the moment?
Right now my favorite song is Just Dance by Lady GaGa because I love the beat.
What's you fav tv show?
You're probably going to laugh but my favorite show is George Lopez
on Nick at Night. George was originally a stand up comedian. He is SO funny.
If you could duet with anyone who would it be and why?
I love the group IL DIVO. Their music and voices are so beautiful.
I would love to do a song with them.
Will we see a tour in 2009?
Definitely. I'm working on my Above it All tour. I'm trying to get everything put together,
and tour dates with always be posted on my music page.
What the hardest thing you ever had to do?
The hardest thing I've ever had to do is see people in pain knowing there is nothing I can do to help.
For example my little sister being diagnosed with diabetes. I remember begging my mom
to let me give her my pancreas but she said I couldn't. I just wanted to make her pain go away
and it killed me that I couldn't.
What the one thing you've done in your work that your most proud of?
It would probably be writing my songs. To start out with a small idea and watch this beautiful song emerge is amazing.
What do you like to be known more for, your song writing ability or your voice?
Probably my voice because you can have an amazing song but the emotion in your voice is what really grabs people.
I like to think of my voice almost as a spell. I want to use it to calm people and make them happy
